These nocturnes are selected from a series of paintings begun in 2001 in which Joyce Woods painted in oils in various locations around Vancouver, Pender Island (Canada) and Berlin (Germany) at night by flashlight. The resulting body of work was exhibited at Havana Gallery, Vancouver, Canada in 2002 and selected works were also exhibited at Galerie Taube, Berlin, Germany in December 2001. Here Joyce is painting "Vancouver's Pyramids" at Brockton Point in Stanley Park, Vancouver 11:00 p.m. (Lincoln Clarkes photo)
